What format to save my printable design?
Canva restricts the quality of image downloads to just 96dpi. The only file output that is 300dpi print quality is the Print PDF option. If you download a printable file in PNG or JPEG format from Canva and only have a canva free account then in order to sell it as a 300dpi print quality you would need to use an online DPI converter. Therefore saving your designs as a Print PDF would be our recommendation.
How to save a file as 300dpi in Canva if you have Canva Pro?
If you have canva pro, when you go to download as a JPEG you can drag the quality toggle across to the far right and the file will download as 300dpi
How to flatten elements, partially or fully?
Flattening simply means saving something as an image so that people can not copy and paste into another document. Often this is required by some font creators and clipart creators as part of their terms and conditions. Here is a loom video to show you how to flatten items in your design:
Do I have to use watermarks and how do I make them?
You do not have to use watermarks and if you use mockups for your products then someone can't just steal your work. However, there are times when it makes sense to use watermarks - for instance, if you sell photo mockups. You can create your own watermarks by creating what you'd like on your watermark - often people use grids. Group all the parts of the watermark together. Then simply adjust the transparency so that they are very light and barely noticeble. Then make sure you position this to the front of your image.
Should I add bleed or cutting lines to my print?
This would depend on what you are selling and the format. If its something that isn't editable then yes it might make sense to add these to a product. (or supply with and without) where as if its an editable template this is not necessary as the end user will select what format they are downloading this as and can select bleed and trim lines when they download the files.
Should I design to the edge or to margin lines?
Turn your margins on while designing and make sure that all important text is within the margins and everything you want on the finished product is within the bleed line margin.
How to design a double sided product?
Simply design a 2nd page, double siding is a print option so you just need to provide the customer with the 2nd page and they would need to follow their printer settings for double siding.
Can I design all my bundle templates in one canva design?
If they are all one size then you could, however I would only do this if it made sense to do so.
For instance if you were creating a bundle of one page signs, then yes it would make sense to put them all in one file. However if you were making a bundle of multiple ebooks - this would not make sense and they would need to be separate products.
How do I organise my Canva files?
What is the easiest way to find things for you? You need to workout whats easiest for you.
For example - Liz Shares her method in the Canva Masterclass Video 3, she sorts hers by Etsy Store Name / Then in sections the same as her etsy store / All items have the collection code in the title so they can easily be searched for.
