Can you contact someone at Etsy?

Can you follow up with customers after they order?

Yes, you can definitely follow up after they order. You can reach out to your customers anytime as long as it is to do with their order.

Should you follow up and ask for a review?

Definitely follow up but don't be too pushy about a review.

You could say something like:

'Thank you so much for your order, I hope everything was as expected. If you are happy with your order it would mean the world to me if you could leave a quick review just so that my listings are shown to more people. Once again, thank you for your order and please let me know if I can be of any assistance'

What is the best size for a listing thumbnail image?

At present Etsy has announced that they want the main thumbnail images to be square-shaped so we would recommend using 2000 x 2000 px but we would recommend keeping all important information to the centre of the thumbnail just incase they change again in the future.

Should you create a video for every listing?

You should attach a video to your listings, however you could create one video for your store and use it on all of your listings.

What should I do - my store is suspended and I have appealed and I am still waiting?

It can take up to 14 days for a human to look at your appeal. In the meantime, focus on creating products while you wait. DO NOT try to open another Etsy store as it will instantly be flagged as your IP address and it will be suspended. You need to have the initial store appeal resolved before you can do anothing else. (trying to open another store can result in a temporary suspension becoming a permanent suspension)

How do I recognise SPAM in my Etsy messages?

Etsy has recently implemented a From Etsy folder in the messages section of your Etsy dashboard.  Genuine messages from Etsy will only be in your From Etsy folder.  Everything else is SPAM and needs to be Marked as Spam in your inbox.

Etsy ads - Do Etsy ad work and what strategy and budget to use?

We do not recommend using Etsy ads if you are just starting out as they tend to lose money very quickly unless monitored very closely. We recommend picking your best-selling top 10 products to start with and starting with $5 a day and very slowly increasing it by a couple of dollars at a time IF the ads are running at a profit. 

I have done everything, but still no sales. Don’t know what to do and I want to give up.

We know it can be frustrating when you feel like you have put in heaps of time but you aren't seeing the results. However, if you are just starting out and learning all these new skills it can take a little bit of time for it all to come together and for you to see results.

Normally it comes down to one of these things:

- You may not have enough products in your store yet to drive the volume of traffic you need to make a sale. (try to visualise your store like a physical shop do you have lots of different stock on display in all different colours and styles)

- Your SEO might need work to help you get found in search (If you haven't yet, do the Etsy SEO toolkit training)

- Your product might be what you like - but not what people are looking for? (sometimes a font choice can be the deciding factor, so it can pay to offer the same product in multiple different font combinations to test what works)

- Your mockup images might not be clear enough on what your product is or who it is for? or when viewed on a device your image could be hard to see. 

- Your listings might be too generic and not specifically targeting someone.
